Same = Safe. YUCK!

2 My ego got one over on me the past couple weeks. It has been disguising its fear as a pain in my arm and eye strain, which subtly, unbeknown to me became excuses for writing less and not taking steps toward my dreams. I know why too. My ego is afraid of failure and, it’s afraid of success and, it will resort to sabotage to preserve and protect its delicate balance. I’ve spent considerable time thinking about the ego. For the most part it has such a negative undertone that I wonder what purpose it really serves. According to…

Miracle #1

0 This is a picture of one of my treasures. I’m no longer certain of where it came from or when, but as you can see I’ve possessed it for years. I have to admit that when I read these words in the beginning I didn’t like them. Why? Because I didn’t want to let go…it was too frickin’ scary! Letting go meant giving up control and OMG!, that felt like letting a wolf in the house or jumping out of an airplane without a parachute! I would read the words because I had asked for help and this is one of the forms…

Energy or How about that retrograde?!

0 What we are is energy in physical form labeled humans. We are original source energy, the same energy that has been around for billions of years. We are energy shaped into bodies of skin and bones with teeth and hair (for a time anyway). Every thing is energy. It’s been proven. And…with no empty spaces in energy, every thing is connected. Because of our origin there is more to us that is unseen than seen. That unseen part is referred to as our spirit or soul and it is also connected to every other spirit or soul in the unseen. This…

STOP IT!!

0 I’ve never been sorry for practicing restraint when it comes to eating, drinking and opening my mouth. I don’t do regret very well and that’s what I feel if I overindulge in any of these. In my experience, a full stomach or hangover goes away a lot quicker than the consequences of spewing every word my ego thinks I should. I’ve said it before; if I’m explaining or complaining it’s my ego doing the talking! I learned this phrase from experts at overcoming overindulgence. I wasn’t doing the drinking but I was certainly doing the obsessing about someone who…

My Idol!

0 Country is my favorite music genre. I like to dance to it, I like to sing along and I like the sound of a steel guitar. I like to listen to and look at Clint Black and George Strait, and Blake Shelton makes me proud to call myself an OKie. My list of favorite country gals includes Patsy Cline for her voice, Dolly for doing it her way, and Carrie for the song Before He Cheats (take that Skip!). But my idol is Miranda Lambert. She’s fun, creative, and she’s a risk taker….you can hear it in her songs and…

Connected

0 I love this poem and believe it embodies our connection and the compassion I think we owe one another. Inter-relationship You are me and I am you. Isn’t it obvious that we inter-are? You cultivate the flower in yourself so that I will be beautiful. I transform the garbage in myself so that you do not have to suffer. I support you you support me. I am here to bring you peace you are here to bring me joy.  It was written by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Zen Buddhist Monk who worked hard during the Vietnam War to…

Freeness (it’s the noun variation)

0 I’m seeing and hearing the word free all over in the media lately. I’ve been using it too, as in ‘Free lifetime membership to MUT Like Me until 10/1/2014’. What I really want to talk about though refers to mental freeness. Unafraid, unambiguous, undisturbed deliberation. “Free” was the answer I gave when my sister asked me a few days ago for one word I use for inspiration. “Freedom from fear and doubt” is on my New Moon wish list this week. (Launching a website is scary!) “Free” is the answer I gave when my other sister asked me what I…

Deny, deny, deny!

0 I choose to ignore what does not make me feel good. I don’t watch the news. I don’t spend time dwelling on people’s misfortune or the injustices on the planet. It won’t help them. If something happens close to home that makes me feel bad or uncomfortable, I run from those feelings as fast as possible. It doesn’t help the situation for me to stay in that mental place. I don’t look at prices when I go shopping. There is always going to be enough money for what I want. I don’t get a seasonal flu shot because I’m…
